SPIRITUAL MAGIC

is not a metaphor.

It is a living presence woven into the fabric of all you experience.
It’s all around you — waiting to be seen, learned, and lived.

MAGIC  IS  REAL  AND  LIVING  ALL  AROUND  US

There is magic in every cell of every living thing—plant, animal, or mushroom—flowing in harmony with every cell of your own body. Every speck of matter, large or small, carries that same current of Magic, from each drop of rain to every beam of light. Magic permeates everything: the screen before you, the fabric of the seat beneath you. It is always conscious, always alive, and always able to communicate with the magic surrounding it.

Once, while walking early one morning, I began to feel quite hungry. My thoughts drifted toward how much I wished I had just two slices of whole wheat bread to make a sandwich when I got home, though I had none waiting for me. As I was thinking this, a man came running up a side street and reached the corner at the same moment I did. He smiled, held out his hand—palm up—and resting on it were two slices of whole wheat bread. “They’re delicious. Want some?” he asked calmly. I gladly accepted them and thanked him again and again, realizing I had just witnessed pure magic at work on my behalf, without my even trying.

A magician of ages past, Hermes Trismegistus, once wrote, "If thou but settest foot on this path, thou shalt see it everywhere." He was right. If you sincerely desire to see the Truth, and possess the uncommon courage to truly look, magic will open your eyes and reveal itself—alive, present, and quietly at work behind the scenes of everything you experience.

WE  ARE  BORN  MAGICAL

As I watched a woman being interviewed on television, she described a moment from her early childhood. She had been in the backyard with her mother, gazing up at the treetops and wondering what the world might look like from that height. With the effortless curiosity of a toddler, she simply floated upward to see for herself, rising above the neighboring yards and their trees. The view was breathtaking, and her first thought was, “Mom would love this!”

But when she looked down, her mother was staring up at her—mouth open, eyes wide. The child didn’t recognize the expression as fear; her mind was filled only with the beauty she hoped to share. Still, something in her mother’s reaction made her feel she must be doing something wrong, so she drifted back down. From that moment on, she was never able to float again—not as a child, and not as an adult.

I believe her completely. When we are very young, everything feels possible. We don’t need “faith” to overcome “disbelief,” because we haven’t yet learned disbelief. That is why childhood is such a powerful time to begin learning real magic. The world around us constantly sends subtle messages—through words, attitudes, and expectations—that Magic is not real. These messages, though untrue, sink quickly into the subconscious and form barriers that make it harder to express Magic later, even for those who eventually choose to believe, learn, and practice.

I was fortunate. My mother began teaching me to experience Magic with her when I was only two years old, and her early guidance shaped my entire life. Her efforts bore fruit—first in childhood, and later in adulthood as well.

MAGIC  IS  ALWAYS  NEAR

The world of magic waits just behind you, visible yet lingering just beyond the corner of your eye. It hides only because you were taught not to see it—but that can change.

Peter Pan expressed the nature of magic beautifully when he said that our belief is what keeps fairies alive. He urged us to “clap our hands” as a sign that we have not forgotten, and are still willing to see and act upon the knowledge that magic will always be a partner in our lives. His request -- gently poetic as well as deeply insightful -- comes from realizing there is a great deal we can do to restore this great inner resouce of power and beauty for ourselves and for those around us. Magic has always been an essential part of the reality in and around us. We only need to remember, and be willing to act on that deep-rooted memory.

This website is here to help you strengthen the magic already flowing through and around you. Open your mind and heart, and then act from the realization that magic will always be the most natural part of who you really are. Or, as Peter Pan so simply but wisely put it, just “clap your hands.”
